hey.
Ive never mapped before. but Godz is my FAV map! I love it.
I was thinking of making a clone... almost the same.. different trials maybe.. different layout really..
just love it

I don't really like the "godz" type maps personally, sure they are full of things to shoot/kill but there isn't any kind of story behind them.

Using UnrealEd is quite simple though, just subtract space from a void to make your level is all you need to do. Though I do recommend opening a few maps in UEd to see what they look like, reading tutorials and whatever you do, do not release your first map. Chances are your first few maps are going to be "noobish" with incorrect textures, etc...

I like the idea though. I might not actually start soon. Helping make a 2k4 map.
I dont think they will be
Ive tried mapping in 2k4. Gave up, but my stuff was aligned etc

Mapping with the first UnrealEd is faster.

Try it in UnrealEd2 (UT99 / Goty)

If you need a basic guide, I've got (part) of a tutorial on my website (I uploaded the site yesterday, so I have still to add some stuff :P). For now the first 6 steps are available, I have the other ones ready but I have to translate them from Italian to English first ;)

KK, Il try to start soon, with the basic starter room n weps...
I need to know sizes of character, how far they jump/dodge etc in unreal units for the bunny tracks.

I'm not into BT but 72 units is about par for the height of a player. :wink:

Roughly consider - ONE World Unit in UnrealEd2 = roughly 1 inch.
