As long as they do now try to emulate original UT like they tried with UT3 and lean more to the 2k3 or 2k4 feel and movement they should have a winner!

I'm not sure I agree with that. Neither UT2k3, UT2k4 nor UT3 have a feel like UT. This is not only due to the movement style but the player models themselves in the later games are all similar. UT's models are much slimmer and agile like, while the latter are these bulky armor wearing characters that just kill it.

If they make the game exactly like UT, but with modern graphics and optimized for modern hardware they'd have a huge winner. Similar to how Serious Sam got an "HD" remake for their new engine. Do that with UT; add some more levels and sell it for a cheap price of like $40 and you'll have a winner. Then immediately release an Unreal III single player campaign to go along with it that includes multi-player co-op play and watch the players roll in.

So many ways to go with it though. They could release the single player Unreal III first, then follow it up with a Tournament that ties into the single player. Hell, they could just do a single player Unreal III w/ Unreal Tournament included in it.

2k3 & 2k4 had slimmer characters to chose from!? ... & it was the fat armored characters that turned a lot of ppl off with UT3 along with the movement animation sucked as well!

...the only thing good about UT3 was the Editor! :bigthumb: ... that was killer to work with and so much more fun/easier mapping with! :2thumbs:

Yeah. UT2k4's movement/style sucked comparatively.

... I was talking about UT3 sucked with movement/style!

I love 2k3 & 2k4! ... never got into UT, bought Anthology for my kids and checked it out but didn't impress me compared to the upgrade of graphics, options and assets available at your disposal!

Bottom Line, UT games rock for the hard core FPS and avid mapper! :coold:

You really ought to try it, UT99, for a while Laambo. :boink:

I don't think I can ever give UT99 up - unless Open Tournament is really good (like UT99)
Then I would probably play both anyway. :naughty:

So far, the latest build of ut4 looks half decent. It definitely needs a ton of work before being called an unreal game, but it does have that nice fast paced feel to it and the level designs are pretty complex looking.

So far, I'm loving the pre-alpha. It's cool watching the progress they've made every week.

The version I've played [Pre Alpha Build: XAN-2345061 - - date 31.10.2014] is actually pretty good considering it's at such and early stage. I'm so used to double jumps though, I find myself hammering the keys for no reason
