Multiple browser support

Post by Skillz »

I just realized that the site does not function correctly in Internet Explorer. So I am pretty sure other browsers get similar results unless you are using Firefox 3.

So now I am left at a dilemma.

Few options I can do here:

One, I can just create a script that checks the user agent. If it's not Firefox, it can send a warning/redirect the user letting them know that the site functions better in Firefox.

Two, write lots of code so the site works in all browsers. This will require the most work.

Well I got the site working with IE 6 and FF 3, haven't tested any others yet.

I think all the major browsers display the site correctly now.

I can confirm that UT-Files works flawlessly in Opera 10. (It always has.)

I would suggest that if you make sure the site works in Opera browser, then it will work in any browser, as it is the only browser that bothers to stick to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) HTML standards.

It can also send your page/site to the W3C site checker, for validation, analysis & correction suggestions.

e.g. http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http% ... ne&group=0

Oh! I see there are still 11 errors (though obviously not critical).
Have a poke about, I'm sure you will find the validator very valuable 8-)

Works oke here in internet explorer and firefox 3.5 also avant, but maby its a location problem or maby a hosting or firewall problem jsut guessing, but for now i am not that worried, keeping this in first html should work on most browsers with IE i think, but i dont know much about this so i could be wrong
