While Bots themselves are rarely used anymore, bot support can give more intelligence to the monsters. You can make them defend an area or track down players. Just something for them to do, so they aren't just standing arround aimlessly. Look at Alarm for a good example; it has monsters spawning and running towards the player's spawn area.

Don't forget that bots also help new players out to a map when bot paths are there, so as to know in what direction a player should go if there are multiple ways around a large map. Bots would also only fight when provoked by a monster that is shooting to it nearby &/or is aware of it's attacking to a player it may be assisting. I can't see it being that much of a big problem if bots & bot paths were able to be put into a map, if one is wanting to have bots included onto a server to play with IMO.

P.S.- As far as BT is concerned within MH, I'm not a fan of it. :nono:

If the map is too troublesome to make the path to follow obvious enough, that's a bad design flaw then anything else, and can be the undoing of a map to new audiences. UT doens't have that "I wonder if I have to try this, or go there" element to the game really.
