Why wouldn't it still be called a space shuttle just because it's on Earth?

If you put a boat on a dry dock for repairs, do you still call it a boat? It's not in water. Yet it's still a boat.

It's fascinating, the biggest acceleration and noise source ever created by mankind, and then a few minutes later completely weightless and surrounded by total silence. Contrasts. A petty I live across the sea and only gets to see it as a shining dot out there if I get lucky. I don't believe they put a man on the moon back in 69' but it's still awesome to throw a bunch of people into orbit arround the earth.

If the highly publicized launch that brought human kind to the moon after so many tries was a government hoax, wouldn't Russia have been the first country to call bluff? They had the only competing space program and we were deep in the cold war.

A decade prior to our manned landing, an unmanned Russian rocket reached the moon. No one disputes that.
