The hell of Package Version Mismatches

It's a pain in the ass to play on some of the remaining few UT99 Monsterhunt servers when visiting them one after another.Often enough my custom UT files have for any reason locally another version and length than the files on the server, but the file name is totally equal. It seems - after eleven y...

Ok I removed the link. I got the early map in October last year from any MH server, so it found place on my harddisk on a legal way ;) and it's the first map which forces the player to grab everything but it's in progress, so I can't wait when it is finished.

MH-RoeDemo1

Some time ago I got a map with name "MH-RoeDemo1" from anywhere, and I didn't get it to work because I was unable to get a missing package "REVeronSafety". Today I did a trick and renamed a random UMX file to "REVeronSafety.umx" and so I could play the map. The map itself seems ok despite that trick...

Package version mismatches

A very frustrating happening is those often upcoming "Package version mismatch" failure when I play on different MonsterHunt game servers. For any reason packages and maps are not renamed when changed and released by somebody. :squint: The only trouble solver seems to be to rename the packages and t...

Yes, thank you, now I understood :)

I better explain what I do mean. In some maps (e.g. MH-TheOutpost, which is not a MH map from scratch, I know, but that is ot the point) the monsters are triggered by a Trigger actor or Dispatcher actor. So the player activates any Trigger actor by running into their collision radius, and the Trigge...

Trigger a monster

Hello,

I often see that a monster is triggered. It's just standing around waiting for the player. So what is the sense to trigger a monster, e.g. a Skaarj?
