i am working on a mapping project as to make helicopters heres my progress

ima use copters in my next mh map :lol:

Added after 13 hours 57 minutes:

ran into a bad thing 2day... how do u make movers that have multiple keypoints and not just 1? plz help me with this :mad: :ugh:

Once you've set it to keypoint 1, do the same, but click key 2 instead. You can make up to 8 this way.
Alternatively, you can use Interpolation points, but that means you need to know your way around the editor really well.

Ya, you already said that. But why make them while some maps already have at least one in them?

Many are usually stationary though, but I do recall being in one CTF map (been so long, can't remember the name) that actually transports the player back & forth! I'd just borrow from that & incorporate into whatever map is being made.

The one in AS-HiSpeed moves, too. It flies away at the end.

Yes, that is at the end-scene & a few other maps I have also do it too.

So rather than trying to make one from scratch, it'll be just easier to 'get' one from an existing map & add where needed during play.

Btw, I always envisioned a huge map that would incorporate all available UT transports to cover various areas of terrain (land, sea & air). ;)

You can make a mover with a lot more than 8 keypoints. Look at my map DM-TheSpinner.

The spinner pod has i think 64 keypoints. I believe you can have a total of 255 if so inclined but it can get very confusing trust me keepoing up if you don't write out what you are doing and keep track.(TO GET THE SPINNER POD TO MOVE YOU MUST COLLECT ALL WEAPON TYPES AND ACTIVATE THE BIG SWORD BY TOUCHING IT. tHEN HOP INTO THE POD OR JUST WATCH FROM THE PLATFORM AS IT DOES ITS THING easier with no bots to grab all the weapons)

I also used this method in my assault map AS-MidnightProphecy where the end movie had a helicopter pick up the survivors and take off...fire a couple of rockets at the enemy weapon and fly off over the Fortress. Finish the assault and you can watch my helicopter. The helicopter was made by another mapper so i can't give you permission to use his chopper.Or i would. He went off to work with modeling and i haven't seen him around in several years.

Basically what you do is create your helicopter. Make it a mover like normal. Then you create invisible attach movers and attach your helicopter to them and allow the heli to follow your invisible mover guides...once you move it the 8 keypoints you switch to another invisdible attach mover and move it , it's 8 keypoints.

Good luck. It's a hassle but the end result is worth it imo.

I think it would be best to ask permission before importing in others work into your maps.

I love your idea about using all the transports covering terrain. lol GREAT IDEA!
