Well, I think this is a great mutator.

I've seen it on mostly all DM servers and in a couple of MH servers. Once, I suggested the admin of MHM2 server to install it since it's also possible to play DM there, but she told me that the mutator only works fine with 56k connections, so it won't make any difference for the majority of the players. However, I don't have a 56k connection and I do see the difference when using the mutator and when not.

What do you think?

ZP is fairly useless on MH servers. Thats why no one uses it. It's a DM mod for bad connections. About the only lag issue you might have with MH is player blocking if you are really close or running together. Otherwise lag is no issue for the BT sections (the BSP does not infact move if you have bad ping, no matter WHAT the guy in the lavapit says) and the monsters have enough tolerance that you can compensate.

ZP only for DM?

Meaning for DM(ish) games where ping is incredibly important like insta servers.

HELL§N|PE®, he means for any kind of gametypes that may need it, like DM, CTF or even AS where it may effect gameplay versus other players. There's not much point for MH vs other monsters. I usually play with a higher ping though in relation to where a lot of the servers are located, so I'm use to how things play out & still do quite well. :wiggle:

So, any more questions that your little mind needs to know? :squint:

I think what Flatus is tactfully trying to suggest is that he (and some others, and me also to be honest) are a bit frustrated with your amount of posting lately. There is nothing wrong with posting but you are way overdoing it. I know we have spoken privately about it but I'm asking you openly to please consider each addition you make and whether it will add something to the conversation (or does it just clutter things and add to your now considerable post count).

If you are after a particular post count number, just spam hell out of your forum section. What you do in there is your business.

ZeroPing can be used for any game type that supports the mutator. It provides better optimization code for ANY kind of connection.

Basically what you see on YOUR screen is what the server reads. So if you can see the player on your screen and you hit it, it'll register as a hit.

Zeroping has nothing do with connection speeds, though it was made for modem users back in the day, broadband users still use it today because it's the most accurate way to play insta type weapons (sniper/shockrifle/enchanced shock rifle/enforcer).

If ping is a problem, we can try using it on the PMH server. Though I'm not sure if ZP works with Monster classes or not. :hsdunno:

Taken from one of the readmes.

What is Zeroping?

Zeroping is a mutator that replaces Unreal Tournament's normal, server-side hit test code with client-side routines. Since Zeroping checks to see if your shot was a hit on your own computer, your weapons will fire instantly, and be much easier to aim. You'll still see a lag between your shot and your victim's death, but that won't affect your accuracy at all.

What Zeroping Does

Zeroping optimizes the primary fire modes of the following weapons:

    * Sniper Rifle
    * Shock Rifle
    * Instagib rifle
    * Enforcer

These weapons will fire the instant you press fire, no matter what your ping is, and they'll hit whatever is in your crosshairs. Zeroping makes these weapons as accurate as they are on a LAN.

What Zeroping Does Not Do

Zeroping does not:

    * Affect your movement.
    * Enhance rapid-fire weapons. A later version will.
    * Enhance projectile weapons like the rocket launcher. The idea behind Zeroping just doesn't apply to them.
    * Reduce your ping. Zeroping just makes your ping seem low.
    * Work with Last Man Standing. Instagib LMS works fine with Zeroping, though.

In theory, it should work with Monsterhunt and make the gameplay better for players with higher pings and even some with lower pings.
