When you download mods/skins and other various add-ons for Unreal Tournament. You will get it in two basic ways.

The first way, which is the most common is all the files zipped up. Once you get it extracted, it's just a matter of putting the files where they belong.

All *.utx files go in the C:\UnrealTournament\Textures directory
All *.umx files go in the C:\UnrealTournament\Music directory
All *.uax files go in the C:\UnrealTournament\Sounds directory
All *.u files go in the C:\UnrealTournament\System directory
All *.int files go in the C:\UnrealTournament\System directory
All *.unr files go in the C:\UnrealTournament\Maps directory
All *.dll files go in the C:\UnrealTournament\System directory

This is assuming you have Unreal Tournament installed in the default location, if not then where ever you installed UT, those directories will be in there.

One this is done, just open UT and find your map/skins and play it.

The other way is using .umod files, by far the easiest way. Not very common though. This file is a self installing unreal file. Just double click the file and it will ask you where Unreal Tournament is installed, just tell it and it'll do all the installling for you.

Oh and welcome to the site.
